I'm Loving... The Shirt Dress

I'm Loving... The Shirt Dress

A shirt dress is definitely a wardrobe staple. I bought one from New Look years ago and I still have it in my wardrobe... somewhere! These are some of my favourites on the high street, most of them are from New Look as I found they had the best selection and they won't break the bank. I would style one of these bad boys with either leggings (depending on the length as I am quite tall) or tights, paired with some flat shoes or boots and a leather jacket, then you are good to go! I like it how they cinch you in at the waist giving you some body definition, whilst wearing something comfortable. They are perfect for both daytime and evening wear and I will be definatly picking one up on my next shopping trip!

What I've been Wearing - 2014

So here is a wrap of my favourite outfits I have been wearing this year. I hardly go out these days and prefer sitting in the house watching Netflix and when I do I prefer wearing something comfortable and modest. Maybe next year I will inject some more colour into my wardrobe!
I hope everyone has an amazing new year and I will be posting loads more fashion related posts in the new year, featuring some new goodies I have been buying!

What I've Been Wearing - December 2014

Hey!

As the party season is upon us and so is the cold weather, I thought I would show you what I've been wearing. I mainly wear the same thing everyday and rarely change it up. Last week it was my work's Christmas party and I bought this amazing lace black lbd from Asda (see pic top right) and it was only £20 - such a bargain! At first I wasn't sure because it was so figure hugging but I think it looks really flattering on and it's such good quality. So if you are looking for a last minute party dress - I would go and check out Asda! Also last week (had a busy week last week) I went to see Kasabian live in Newcastle and wanted something comfortable but dressy to wear. I picked up this really cute sparkly top from Primark (top left) and it was only £8. If you like tops that cover your bum, like me this top was a tiny bit out of my comfort zone as it is quite short on length. However paired with high wasted jeans or a body con skirt you will be ready to rock for the party season.

Some more casual outfits - on the right my new grey slouchy roll neck jumper from Topshop is such an essential. I thought £30 was a little steep but honestly can't stop wearing it because it's sooo warm. Also I love wearing my fur gilet - I think it looks super cool over a checked shirt ad a pair of jeans with biker boots.

Autumn Fashion Wish List

Autumn Fashion Favourites

I think I got a bit carried away...  One day I will own all of this (can only dream)

1. Camel Coat -  I REALLY need one in my life. It would go with everything and it's a timeless piece. I spotted this beauty in Marks & Spenser's - not somewhere I would normally shop but this really caught my eye. For £120 I think it's worth every penny!

2. Daniel Wellington Classic Sheffield Watch - I'm not a big watch wearer but I've had my eye on this for ages. A guy I work with has one and its so beautiful. I hate watches that tick but apparently it doesn't so that's a bonus.

3.  Tiffany Necklace -   So this is a naughty mention. I don't even know why I do this to myself... I have this whole idea of going to New York for my 21st and buying a Tiffany Necklace...
A. I don't have enough money to go to New York.
B. I don't have a boyfriend to take me to New York.
C. If I bought one for myself it wouldn't be the same.
D. If I bought myself this necklace, I will be broke and my New York dreams will be over.

So yeah...  think I've had a melt down in a paragraph haha

4. H&M Pink Jumper - I just love the colour. It will cheer me up in the dark, cold winter months.. I just know it. £30 is reasonable for a jumper I suppose.

5.H&M  Grey Tee - It's funky - I like it. Also It won't break the bank too, for £8.

6. H&M striped Tee - You can't have enough striped t-shirts - they are so easy to wear!

What I've been wearing

        1,2,3  (left to right)
4,5,6.  (left to right)

I would say that my style is very basic and repetitive. I like to buy statement, classic pieces because I know I will get a lot of wear out of them!  On pictures one and six I am wearing my Zara jacket which was £80 - quite expensive. However I think it is worth the money as it dresses up a casual outfit. In picture 3 I am wearing a dress I bought from a lovely lady who has her own dress making business called 'Jennifer Lily' Designs'. I love the gingham print as I think it's very versatile for summer and winter.  In the summer I enjoyed wearing it with sandals and in winter it will look fab with a pair of tights and chunky boots.
As winter creeps slowly in, I still think all these outfits are wearable. Ditch the sandals for the winter boots and coats and we are all sorted!

Collective September Haul

Hey!

This haul is long overdue but hey ho, I've eventually had time to write this post so I'm just going to get straight into it!

Beauty

Smash Box - Try it kit - £19 from Boots. The story behind this is that I ran out of primer and really wanted to try the normal clear primer from Smash Box, so I bought this. The verdict so far is I HATE the primer as it feels really weird a little bit like latex, but I really like the mascara and lip gloss, so money was technically not wasted.  But you live and you learn!

After eyeing up the 'And God Created the Woman' palette for a while, I caved and bought it. However £35 was well spent as I actually adore this palette. I have never tried any Nars eye shadows but I'm glad I have because they are lovely! Also it comes with a brush and a primer which is amazing so money well spent, in my opinion.

Fashion

These beauties are from Zara. I bought these on a total whim and mainly because they are quite unique... but I still haven't worn them yet! I don't think they are going to be comfortable but they will be fine If I am going for a meal where I will be sitting down!

Lastly good old Primark! These shoes are gorgeous and they were only £12... bargain! They will look tres chic with a pair of black jeans, striped t-shirt and a long coat. Also I am a sucker for hats. I always buy them but never wear them but I haven't got a burgundy hat so I bought it woopsy. For £8 it will be perfect for autumn and it's 100% wool!

So that was that! So I have finally decided to start You Tube! I feel a little more confident about myself and I've always wanted to try it, so  I am going to give it a whirl! I am not going to lie, it won't be perfect first time round, but I will never be satisfied unless I try! So once I figure out how to edit, my first video should be up soon! Exciting but scary stuff!

15 Fashion Questions - Tag

Hey!

So I am loaded with cold, yes a summer cold... how the hell is this even possible!? I do have a lot of ideas for more fashion based Blog posts in the upcoming future, so what's a better way to start that sharing with you a bit about my style.

1. What's your favourite style to wear?
I would probably describe my style as simple. An ideal outfit would consist of a white t-shirt, pair of jeans and either my structured Zara coat or a blazer. When I shop I try not to buy items that are currently in, unless they are statement pieces. For example tartan is always in for winter, so investing in a good quality tartan scarf you can add detailing to your outfit, without going all out.

2. Who is your fashion role model?
Gillian Zinser aka Ivy from 90210 has to be my fashion role model. She always look effortlessly cool and I love it!

3. What do your always wear?
My grey floaty cardigan, without fail. It's just so easy to chuck on over an outfit, especially for work!  Also this really cute elephant necklace, I always wear it! I made it myself and I have had tons of compliments.

4. What are your favourite jeans?
I used to love the Topshop Leigh jeans but they quickly fade and they are so expensive! But I am loving New Look jeans, they don't fade as quick and they are quite reasonably priced!

5.What's your favourite sunglasses?
Raybans.

6. What are your favourite shoes?

My Vagabond ankle boots, love them.

7. Who Influenced you to write about fashion?
Every blogger who gets paid. I go shopping a lot, so I thought why not write about it.

8. What's your favourite store?
My favourite shops are Primark, Zara, H&M and ASOS.

9. Who is your favourite fashion fashion Blogger/ Youtuber?
Beauty Crush and Style has no size.

10. What's your favourite fabric?
COTTON. It's great having a few basic cotton t-shirts in your wardrobe.

11. Who is your favourite model?
Cara Delevingne.

12. If you had £5,000 to spend on any one item, what would it be?
A Mulberry bag with matching purse.

13. Heels or Flats?
Flats FTW. I'm quite tall anyways I don't need the extra 6 inches and heels KILL my feet so much. Anyone who knows me will know what I am like on a night out wearing heels.... not a good mix.

14. What purse do you currently use?
A little tiny one because once upon a time my social life was amazing and instead of changing purses to go out, I always use the same tiny one... It fits call my cards in though, bonus.

15. Is fashion in your blood or jeans?
Would love to say blood. My family have always been keen dress makers, so from a young age my auntie taught me how to knit and sew.

Hope you enjoyed reading, Have you done this tag before?

Fashion Wishlist!

Fashion Wishlist!

1. I love these trousers, they are from New Look and only £25. I don't really like statement, bold printed trousers but these are kind of wearable for me as they aren't too in your face. However they are only an online exclusive, do I buy them or not... That is the question!

2. Again another pair of Trousers from New Look, as they are monochrome I would probably wear them a lot more! I think these would be quite versatile, I could dress them down for work and during the day and add a pair of heels for night time!

3. I have heard that red is going to be in for Autumn/ winter 2014, so I might have to purchase this blazer. For £25 I think this would be a wardrobe essential, as it would add a pop of colour to my outfit. I would pair this jacket with a white boyfriend shirt, a pair of black jeans or the monochrome trousers shown above.

4. A couple of weeks ago I tried this 'leather' jacket on in Zara I love it! However for £60 its probably worth having a look around, before taking the plunge.

What are you loving this month?

Primark haul!

Hey!
I think I've went a little wild this month in the shoe department in primark! A couple of months ago I vowed never to buy primark shoes again, when a pair of shoes literally dissolved in the rain... Typical British weather! So I splashed out on a pair of real leather shoes from office, worst decision of my life when they literally ripped my feet to shreds. £50 down and many blister plasters later... I'm back at shopping at Primark for my shoes! Also how cute is this cushion?
Can you believe this was only £4?!
I have a feeling that these may dissolve in the rain again... However for £4 these are awesome for work!
Love this colour, it's so vibrant and summery! Will look amazing with a tan, unfortunately I will be hitting the fake tan this year but for £6 they are a bargain!
Finally, the shoes every mother and their dogs are talking about... Birkenstocks! I can't ever justify paying £50 for a real pair  ... So even if I don't wear these often they won't be breaking the bank for £5.

Have you bought anything nice from Primark this month?!

June Haul!

You will never guess where these lovelies are from... Primark! They were only £16 such a bargain! They are bang on trend, super comfortable and won't break the bank! I picked up a white pair, however they do come in array of colours, so you are spoilt for choice!

http://www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3792752
I love these sandals they are so simple but yet add something to your outfit. I'm 5ft10 so I don't really like wearing high heels, so these are a great alternative because they add a little bit of height but still are comfortable enough to wear throughout the day! They are called 'Hat Trick Leather Heeled Sandals' and they were £35 from Asos. For a pair of real leather sandals I think the price is reasonable, however when I bought these I managed to get a cheeky 25% off!

This beauty was featured in my last blog post 'Zara Wishlist'and I knew it had to be mine, so I rushed down to my nearest Zara and bought it! For £80 this coat is such a wardrobe staple and an investment piece. I know I will get a lot of wear out of it and it will go with basically everything in my wardrobe. Now as I am in my 20's I thought it was about time to start investing in timeless items of clothing.

I've been really loving the Kimono trend and I have been searching for the perfect one! New look have some lovely bright floral ones in at the moment, however I spotted this one at H&M for £14.99.

Zara Wishlist!

Zara Wishlist!

1. £40 - Zara mini city bag - Love this Red/ Orange Mini city bag, it's a perfect way to add a little pop of colour to your outfit!

2. £30- Nautical Ballerina - I love the see through heel on these shoes and I haven't got any striped shoes in my wardrobe.

3. £60 - Leather Fringed sandals - £60 is a little steep for a pair of sandals but I guess you get what you pay for. I would rather an expensive good quality pair of shoes over a cheap pair from Primark. I love the cute fringing detail as well.

4. £80 - Structured Coat - I love this white structured coat. I love how it's simple yet a statement piece. For £80 it's quite expensive, however I think it's a wardrobe essential and I know I will get a lot of wear out of it.

5. £30- Checked Shirt - Checks/gingham are on trend at the moment. This shirt will look effortlessly chic paired with a pair of ripped jeans, a leather jacket and biker boots.

What's on your Zara wishlist?
