My rediscovered loves

I've rediscovered some old loves and now I remember why I liked them so much in the first place! The Kiko long lasting stick eyeshadow is just amazing! It does exactly what it says on the tin, no gimmicks, no nothing, just a super affordable, easy to apply and off you go! The colour doesn't have a name but its the number 05 and it's worth picking up! I love how its so quick to apply, just draw it on and smudge with your fingers and your all set! I went out for dinner last night and wore this and my friends commented on how nice my eye shadow looked, which was nice because I spent like 2 mins tops applying it! I will do anything for an easy life.

I bought this lipstick about a year ago on a whim and decided it wasn't for me. It got lost in my pile for a while but since I have been loving the nudes recently, I dug it out and thought I would give it a try again. This lipstick is called 'Viva Glam V and is in a lustre finish - not something I would normally go for! It gives a lovely sheer finish, nearly like a lip gloss and is perfect for work and everyday wear.

I just love writing things down at the moment. At the weekend I went into an art gallery and it was full of students with their note books out writing things down and it just inspired me to just start using pen and paper more. My boy - friend (it's complicated) ordered me some books for my birthday and that has inspired me to read more. P.s the diary is from Paper chase!

I Recommend... Quay Ingredient - Newcastle

This weekend I decided to eat out for breakfast, which was such a treat! After seeing so many good reviews on Trip Advisor and on social media, I decided to go to Quay Ingredient on the Quayside in Newcastle. When we arrived it was probably the peak time for Breakfast around 10 am, It was super busy and we had to wait to get a seat! The staff were lovely and made sure we got menu's and drinks straight away. I ordered Poached eggs with avocado on toast, which was lovely and finished it off with a pot of Japanese green tea! Since I am on a diet I thought that they had a good variety and there was a lot of healthy options for those watching their weight and they had loads of Gluten  free/ Vegetarian options too! My friend had the cinnamon pancakes with banana which looked and smelt unreal, I had major food envy! Overall if you are visiting Newcastle I would definitely give this a visit, it's quaint, popular with the locals, has good food and its reasonably priced too! P.s If your hungover I am sure one of their fry ups will sort you right out!

I'm Loving... The Shirt Dress

I'm Loving... The Shirt Dress

A shirt dress is definitely a wardrobe staple. I bought one from New Look years ago and I still have it in my wardrobe... somewhere! These are some of my favourites on the high street, most of them are from New Look as I found they had the best selection and they won't break the bank. I would style one of these bad boys with either leggings (depending on the length as I am quite tall) or tights, paired with some flat shoes or boots and a leather jacket, then you are good to go! I like it how they cinch you in at the waist giving you some body definition, whilst wearing something comfortable. They are perfect for both daytime and evening wear and I will be definatly picking one up on my next shopping trip!

Clean Eating Lifestyle

At the beginning of January I decided to embark on a 6 week fitness challenge which consisted of regular exercise and clean eating! I thought it would be super easy but it's defiantly harder than I thought! I wouldn't say I had an unhealthy lifestyle before but I did have a sweet tooth and liked sweet treats on a daily basis.

Before my clean eating started I would have a couple of milky coffees a day, followed by a chocolate bar or maybe a slice of cake. For lunch I would have sandwich and a packet of crisps and for tea I would have whatever was getting served up that night. Don't get me wrong I did used to eat plenty of veg, fruit and other healthy things but I needed the motivation.

I used get really bloated and I used to get regular headaches. I started to wonder maybe the headaches were caused by eye strain from sitting at the computer all day but since cutting out both sugar and caffeine out of my diet they stopped. Also I used to get really bad period cramps, I mean I still do but they aren't as intense. I was never a fat girl beforehand, I was hitting on 11 stone which for my 5ft10 frame wasn't overweight, but do you know when you just feel uncomfortable? I just knew I had to do something about it.

So my clean eating diet now consists of eating a lot of protein like chicken, tuna, salmon, turkey. As Well as some starchy carbs like rice, sweet potato and a lot of green veg! For breakfast I normally have a boiled egg or scrambled eggs and for snacks I normally eat sunflower/ pumpkin seeds and rice cakes. Also I drink about 2 litres of water or more a day! On the first week I  found it really hard to adjust to the diet, I felt mega tired, I had no energy, I had headaches all the time but the weeks went by those symptoms had stopped. For exercise I go to boot camp 3 times per week and when I am not there I go for a steady jog/power walk or go spinning!

With all this hard work and dedication I have so far managed to lose 9 pounds in total and I still have 2 weeks left! I honestly feel great, my stomach is a lot flatter and not bloated; my skin is a lot clearer and more glowing!

This dinner was unreal! I had salmon with a cup of veg and home made healthy sweet potato chips! It was like heaven on a plate! See who said eating healthy had to be boring?

As you can see my stomach is way flatter and you can see my ab muscles (woop - hellow six pack!) P.s my sports bra is from Primark and was only £5! Primark have some lovely sports wear in at the moment!

Hopefully I have inspired someone to put there box of leftover Christmas chocolates down and go to the gym instead! or maybe not but hey ho!

A little bit of Inspiration

Hey!

Happy new year!

I am Feeling a little inspired today. This weekend I signed up to this 6 week transformation programme - with  the goal of losing 20 pounds. I wouldn't consider myself as a plus sized girl but I haven't been 100% happy with my body for a while now. I think I hit a low when I realised I couldn't fit into size 12 clothes in H&M and always had to size up and the same in Topshop when I have had to buy a size 14 in jeans. Although I have been doing regular exercise for a while, I just feel like I need a little bit of a push and motivation to get me to my personal goals. So from tomorrow I will be on a strict nutrition plan of clean eating and exercising about 5 times a week. I know it will be a challenge but wish me luck and hopefully I will be physically fitter and healthier by the middle of February!

Here are some of my new year resolutions:
1. Learn first aid.
2. Learn how to dress make
3. Learn how to dance!

What I've been Wearing - 2014

So here is a wrap of my favourite outfits I have been wearing this year. I hardly go out these days and prefer sitting in the house watching Netflix and when I do I prefer wearing something comfortable and modest. Maybe next year I will inject some more colour into my wardrobe!
I hope everyone has an amazing new year and I will be posting loads more fashion related posts in the new year, featuring some new goodies I have been buying!

What I've Been Wearing - December 2014

Hey!

As the party season is upon us and so is the cold weather, I thought I would show you what I've been wearing. I mainly wear the same thing everyday and rarely change it up. Last week it was my work's Christmas party and I bought this amazing lace black lbd from Asda (see pic top right) and it was only £20 - such a bargain! At first I wasn't sure because it was so figure hugging but I think it looks really flattering on and it's such good quality. So if you are looking for a last minute party dress - I would go and check out Asda! Also last week (had a busy week last week) I went to see Kasabian live in Newcastle and wanted something comfortable but dressy to wear. I picked up this really cute sparkly top from Primark (top left) and it was only £8. If you like tops that cover your bum, like me this top was a tiny bit out of my comfort zone as it is quite short on length. However paired with high wasted jeans or a body con skirt you will be ready to rock for the party season.

Some more casual outfits - on the right my new grey slouchy roll neck jumper from Topshop is such an essential. I thought £30 was a little steep but honestly can't stop wearing it because it's sooo warm. Also I love wearing my fur gilet - I think it looks super cool over a checked shirt ad a pair of jeans with biker boots.
